Not everyone can start a company.  Sometimes you need to join a team and work your ass off to be rich.  Employees 3-7 do very well in companies. All employees do well if there is an Employee Stock Option Plan associated with a role and the company is well-managed and they are in a growing market.  If you are key at delivering a part of the business model, like a top sales guy, a top engineer, or a key marketing lead, most founders want to compensate you well with options as well.
